One of our senior travel agents had the extraordinary experience of travelling through beautiful Iceland and was fortunate enough to see the Northern lights dancing across the sky at Reykjavik! (Photo 1)

This is the spectacular Skógafoss Waterfall with a drop of 62 meters and a width of 25 meters! It is on the Skógar river, below the Eyjafjöll mountains and the west of Mýrdalsjökull glacier. (Photo 2)

One of the best things you can do when travelling Iceland is visit one of the many natural hot springs or geothermal pools. Just relax and enjoy….. (Photo 3)

Tropical Trip to Fiji!

Kerstin visited Fiji and had the pleasure of staying at the new 5-Star Marriott Resort on Momi Bay.

The resort was officially opened March 31st 2017 so it is the newer of the resorts that Fiji has to offer. The resort was absolutely beautiful, offering a Maldives/Tahiti ambiance with beach bungalows (which we stayed in) and over-water bungalows along with the base hotel style rooms. Being only 4.5 hour flight from Melbourne it was a easy trip that didn’t leave us absolutely exhausted.

  • When I think of this resort I think of the relaxation, activities such as jet-ski and paddle boarding and tropical cocktails. The Marriott has two pools, one being adults only and very quiet and the other offers a swim up bar and a more louder vibe with music playing all day.

This resort is perfect for families or couples that simply want to go away on a relaxing vacations and not leave the serenity of the resort.

This brings to me to the negative or positive aspect of the fact that this resort is the first resort built on the new side of the island. Therefore it is about 40 minutes from the airport and main city of Nadi and the drive to the resort is through the beautiful country side and the resort is very secluded.

Being such a new hotel the service side does need a bit of improvement, however this is to be expected, but can be quite frustrating at times. The price of food/drinks is not cheap either. It is about the same as Australia and because this resort is far from other resorts, you are sort of forced to pay, but it is what it is. I am led to believe that Fiji prices are high no matter which resort you are at, simply because nothing grows in Fiji and everything is imported with high taxes and duty.

Overall, our visit to Marriott Momi bay was very relaxing and it really is great how close it is to Melbourne.

Dazzling Dubai

Kerstin had the incredible opportunity to join an educational trip to Dubai, immersing herself in the city's dazzling charm. Her adventure included exploring the renowned Dubai Mall, where indulgent shopping sits amidst its impressive attractions like the aquarium and dancing fountain.

Scaling the Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building, was a thrilling highlight. Yet, one of the most memorable experiences was the Dinner Safari. Venturing across the rolling sand dunes in 4WD vehicles, she savored an authentic dinner under the stars accompanied by captivating belly-dancing performances. Dubai's blend of luxury, culture, and adventure left Kerstin with a truly unforgettable journey.

A Tahitian Surprise!

In 2014, Kerstin’s amazing family planned a surprise trip for her birthday to stay in one of these at the gorgeous Sofitel Moorea la Ora Beach Resort.

Our tip is to consider half-board if you would like to utilise the local supermarket which is within walking distance of the Sofitel on Moorea. It’s also just a short 30 minute ferry ride to the main island, Papeete.

Happy Birthday Kerstin!!
